Iyer-Ashwin Guide India to a Victory in the 2nd IND vs BAN Test

India required 100 runs in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh on the fourth day to win with only six wickets in hand. Bangladesh gave India a scare in the first few overs as the trio of Axar Patel, Jaydev Unadkat and Rishabh Pant were dismissed early, and India still required more than 70 runs to win. However, Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Ashwin did not succumb to the pressure and guided their team to a victory which seemed improbable.

India required 145 runs in the final inning of the match to win the game against Bangladesh. However, India seemed to be behind in the match when Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul were dismissed early in the chase. Axar Patel played a good knock, and Jaydev Unadkat supported him well. Rishabh Pant could not do well in the last inning, and this led the entire pressure to mount on Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin in the chase.

Ravichandran Ashwin remained on 42* off 62, and Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 29* off 46 to win the match for India. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took a fifer, and Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets in the last inning of the chase. With this win, India has whitewashed Bangladesh in the Test series. In January, India will face Sri Lanka in an ODI and T20 series.
