Jay Shah has been the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) since 2019. He has a lot of power in his hands at this time, but now there is speculation that if Jay Shah applies for the post of ICC Chairman, he can be elected unopposed as the new chairman. But there are also reports that Jay Shah has not yet taken any clear decision in this regard.
The elections for the post of chairman are to be held in November this year. Currently, Greg Barclay of New Zealand is sitting on the post of Chairman of the International Cricket Council and is eligible to apply for a second term.
According to reports, the ICC is going to hold a meeting in Colombo in the month of July, in which the date for the election of the post of chairman can be announced. Although Jay Shah has not yet broken his silence on this subject, but it is reported that he is not happy with some of the ways of working of the ICC.
