The World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia will be played at The Oval in London from June 7 to June 11. Notably, after the squad for the mega event was announced, the Rohit Sharma-led side suffered a slew of injuries.
The absence of India’s star opener, KL Rahul, will be one of the team’s main concerns in the one-off Test. The wicketkeeper-batter was injured during an IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and was forced to withdraw from the Test match.

Apart from Rahul, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat suffered a shoulder injury earlier this month while bowling in the nets for LSG in Lucknow. Following his injury, he sought medical advice from BCCI personnel, underwent scans, and then traveled to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation to regain his fitness.
He has, however, fully recovered from his injury in time for the WTC final. On Sunday, May 28, the 31-year-old runner posted a photo of himself on a flight to London to his official Instagram account.
