Australian spin-bowling legend Shane Warne passed away earlier today due to a suspected heart attack. He was found unconscious at his villa in Thailand and could not be brought back to life despite the efforts of the medical team present at the scene.
Highly adored by fans and sportspersons all around the globe, Warne was a great asset to the game. He picked up 1001 wickets in 339 international games he was a part of. His stellar career spawned over a decade and earned him the reputation of being perhaps the best bowler Australia has ever produced.
His mind-boggling deliveries turning from one end to another to dismiss batters on several occasions are still one of the most incredible showcases of the bowling masterclass. Warne’s physical state never became a hurdle in his bowling efforts. He loved bowling against England and South Africa and picked up more than 300 of his 708 wickets in tests between these two nations.
Shane Warne himself was mourning the loss of his colleague Rod Marsh and posted a tweet for the same yesterday from his Twitter handle. Today he too has passed away, and fans and cricket legends worldwide are in complete disbelief.
