Marnus Labuschagne, born on June 22, 1994, is an accomplished Australian international cricketer recognized for his contributions to the Australian cricket team in Tests and ODIs as a batsman. Within the domestic circuit, Labuschagne represents Queensland and also plays for Glamorgan in county cricket, as well as donning the jersey of the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.
Notably, as of July 31, 2023, Labuschagne holds the impressive rank of number 5 in the ICC Test batting rankings. He was a pivotal member of the Australian squad that emerged victorious in the 2023 ICC World Test Championship final.

Marnus Labuschagne was born in Klerksdorp, located in South Africa’s North West province, to South African parents. At the age of 10, his family immigrated to Australia in 2004 when his father secured employment in the mining industry. Labuschagne commenced his education at Brisbane State High School. He initially grew up speaking Afrikaans and gradually became fluent in English following his move to Australia.
In an interesting twist, Labuschagne shared that in November 2010, he worked as a Hot Spot infrared camera operator for Channel 9 at The Gabba in Brisbane. During this time, he witnessed Peter Siddle’s iconic hat-trick on Siddle’s 26th birthday during the 2010–11 Ashes series.
On May 26, 2017, Labuschagne married Rebekah, and they celebrated the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Hallie, on September 20, 2022. The couple also has a chocolate Labrador named ‘Milo,’ who occasionally makes appearances on Labuschagne’s Instagram, often seen participating in backyard cricket.
Raised in a Christian household, Labuschagne embraced his faith at the age of 17. He finds solace in his Christian beliefs, stating that it provides him with a steady foundation amidst the ups and downs of sports.
Labuschagne possesses a deep passion for coffee, having even completed a barista course at the age of 21. On tour with the Australian Cricket Team, he’s known to take along his commercial-grade coffee machine. During the tour to Pakistan, Labuschagne brought along an impressive 30 kg of coffee beans and 1000L of oat milk for the team.
Off the cricket field, Labuschagne has been recognized for honing his batting skills through home-made games in his backyard. In preparation for the 2022 Australian tour of Pakistan, he was spotted practicing his batting on his home balcony in Brisbane. He ingeniously used a rubber mat adorned with pieces of taped aluminum and metal sheeting to simulate the variable bounce and turn of Pakistani wickets.
