It was reported that Shami delayed the healing process and surgery to play the World Cup 2023 for India. However, the decision has ultimately led to his absence from the IPL 2024.

Matt Henry, the Kiwi pacer could be the one to replace Mohammed Shami in Gujarat Titans for IPL 2024. Henry has impressed with his pace and accuracy over the years. He has played 17 T20Is for New Zealand in which he has picked 20 wickets with an economy of around 8 runs per over.

No one could forget the lethal blows that Matt Henry delivered to India in the semi-final of ICC ODI World Cup 2019. He definitely has what it takes to perform at the stage like IPL. There are several other options as well for Gujarat Titans but for now it seems that they will settle with Matt Henry.
