Mehidy Hasan Miraz, born on October 25, 1997, is a prominent Bangladeshi international cricketer representing the national team in Tests and One Day Internationals (ODIs). Serving as a valuable bowling-all-rounder, he bats right-handed and specializes as a right-arm off-break bowler.

In November 2018, during a match against the West Indies, Mehidy Hasan Miraz achieved the best match figures by a Bangladeshi bowler in a Test match. Further showcasing his cricket prowess, in February 2021, he notched up his maiden century in Test cricket against the West Indies. During the same series, he also earned the distinction of becoming the fastest bowler from Bangladesh, in terms of matches played, to claim 100 wickets in Test cricket, achieving this feat in his 24th match.

As of May 2021, he holds the rank of No. 2 ODI bowler in the ICC Rankings, making him the third Bangladeshi bowler ever to attain this position, with the other two being Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak.

Miraz was born in Khulna and spent his formative years in Khalishpur, a part of Khulna city. His journey in cricket began at the age of 8. He enrolled at the Kashipur Cricket Academy, where he received his initial cricket training and eventually earned a spot in the Under-14 national cricket tournament.

On March 15, 2019, a terrorist attack unfolded moments before Miraz and several members of the Bangladesh test team were about to enter the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. The entire team was profoundly affected by this traumatic event. In response to the shock of the attack, Miraz made the decision to marry his longtime fiancée, Rabeya Akhter Priti, on March 21, 2019.
