MS Dhoni, the legendary wicket-keeper batter who led India to two World Cup titles, has been booked under an FIR in Begusarai town in Bihar. The FIR included his name among the total of 8 people who have been accused of being part of a fraud and scam.
The FIR against MS Dhoni is filed by the Neeraj Kumar Nirala of SK Enterprises. Dhoni had promoted the company named New Global Produce India Limited, which has been accused of duping the SK Enterprises of ₹30 lacs. There was a deal between the two companies which fell apart, and New Global Produce India Limited sent a cheque as reparations after the deal fell apart, but when the cheque was produced in the bank, it bounced, which prompted SK Enterprises to register an FIR.
The case had its first hearing in the court on Monday, where it was decided that the case would be transferred to the Judicial Magistrate Ajay Mishra, who will listen to the counterarguments of both sides on 28th June 2022.

The exact reason for the FIR:
SK Enterprises had placed an order for fertilisers with the New Global Produce India Limited, which is a brand promoted by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. New Global delivered the product on schedule, but SK Enterprises alleged that they did not adhere to the rules and regulations as well as the quality of the product was not what they had expected.

A settlement was reached between the two sides in which New Global offered to pay back ₹30 lacs for retracting the sold product. A cheque containing the mentioned amount was sent to Neeraj Kumar Nirala of SK Enterprises who went to the bank with the cheque only to find out that the cheque could not be deposited due to an insufficient balance in the account of crediting party.
This led Neeraj to seek legal help, and he filed an FIR against the 7 members of New Global India Produce Limited and MS Dhoni. He claimed that Dhoni had misled him and others by promoting the product.
