Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja believes Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni will be remembered for the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final, which was played on the reserve day for the first time in the competition’s long history, earlier this week. While recalling some of the season’s most memorable moments, Raja mentioned the incident involving Sunil Gavaskar and Dhoni. During CSK’s final home game of the season, Gavaskar had his shirt signed by Dhoni.

“This IPL will be remembered for the colour yellow, and for MS Dhoni. His humility, the Dhonimania, his captaincy, his calmness, and his keeping will be remembered for ages. But most of all, this IPL will be remembered for the moment when a legend like Sunil Gavaskar asked MS Dhoni to sign an autograph on his shirt. There cannot be a bigger compliment for MS Dhoni,” Ramiz Raja said in a video shared on his YouTube channel.

Further discussing IPL 2023, Raja referred to the tournament’s 16th season as “the greatest season ever.” What a season the IPL had in 2023, which awed the entire cricketing world. The IPL 2023 has been praised by the game’s greats for its frequent 200-plus totals and thrilling chases that went down to the last ball, as well as young talents like Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad rising to the occasion to push the boundaries of the game.
