‘Need him to have an off day in semis’: Close friend and well wisher Pietersen hopes Kohli doesn’t fire

Virat Kohli announced his return to supremacy in sublime style in the ongoing T20 World Cup Down Under. The former captain has scored 246 runs in the tournament with a mammoth average of 123. Former England skipper, Kevin Pietersen in his column for the Betway touched upon the how he always backed his dear mate to come good and touch the skies again. He mentioned how much of a difference an in-form Virat Kohli can make in the dressing room, who’s got an infectious energy that passes on.

But as much as he smiled with joy, Pietersen stated that he needed Kohli to have an off-day against England in order for his team to get through but seems to have forgotten the threat that looms large: Suryakumar Yadav.
