Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat Match Highlights
The Melbourne Renegades got off to a good start with their opening batsmen, but once the first wicket fell, they lost their way a bit and started losing wickets in quick succession. Nic Maddinson and Andre Russell came in and took the Power Surge, managing to score quickly and consistently. Maddinson led the way with an impressive 87 runs from just 49 balls. However, after the departure of the two set batters, Melbourne Renegades struggled to keep up the pace and were only able to score 166 runs in their 20 overs.
Brisbane Heat got off to a poor start in their run chase, losing two wickets and scoring just 21 runs in the Powerplay. Colin Munro and Jimmy Peirson steadied the innings with a 54-run stand but the required run rate kept increasing, putting pressure on both batsmen. Colin Munro was run out on the final ball of the Power Surge, leaving Brisbane Heat in a difficult position. Jimmy Peirson struck a few big blows but he was also dismissed in the 15th over, leaving Brisbane Heat falling short of the target by 22 runs.
