All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the ongoing five-match T20I series against England due to a side strain injury sustained during a practice session ahead of the second match in Chennai. He will now head to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further treatment.
Meanwhile, left-handed batter Rinku Singh is recovering from a low back spasm sustained during the first T20I on January 22. He is doing well but will miss the second and third T20Is as a precaution.
Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh have been called up as replacements for Reddy and Singh.
There has been no update on Abhishek Sharma, who twisted his ankle during a practice session in Chennai, though it appears his injury is not serious.
Dube will join the squad in Rajkot for the third T20I on January 28. India secured a comfortable win in the first T20I, chasing down 133 in just 13 overs.
