Rajasthan Royals have included a brilliant SA20 player in their squad for IPL 2025, replacing Nitish Rana. This change was made due to Nitish Rana’s injury. South Africa’s uncapped left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, Luan-Dre Pretorius, will now feature in IPL 2025. Rajasthan Royals selected Pretorius from their affiliate team, Paarl Royals (SA20), to take over from Rana.
Nitish Rana Out of IPL
Nitish Rana is ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2025 due to injury. As a result, Rajasthan Royals had to quickly find a replacement. Luan-Dre Pretorius has been brought in to fill his spot. Pretorius made his debut for Paarl Royals in SA20 earlier this year, where he scored an impressive 97 runs in his very first match, catching everyone’s attention.
Uncapped Player Pretorius
Luan-Dre Pretorius is an uncapped player, meaning he has not yet played international cricket for his country. However, he has performed exceptionally well in the SA20. Rajasthan Royals are hopeful that Pretorius will continue his strong performance in IPL 2025. He is a talented batsman and wicketkeeper who could prove to be an important player for the team.

Joined for ₹30 Lakhs
South Africa’s Luan-Dre Pretorius has played 33 T20 matches and scored 911 runs with a high score of 97. He will join RR for his base price of ₹30 Lakhs.
