A source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) privy to the developments said that the PCB has also proposed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that their Test team should be brought to Rawalpindi as soon as possible so that the series can be organized.
Bangladesh senior men’s team’s two-Test series against Pakistan starting August 21 in Rawalpindi is under doubt as the current civil unrest in Bangladesh forced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and leave the country.
Bangladesh’s senior team is scheduled to play two Tests in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30-September 3) but in the current scenario, it may be difficult for the national team to travel. Even the Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s tour of Pakistan is in doubt. Former Test captain Mominul Haque was scheduled to play for Bangladesh ‘A’ in the series against Pakistan ‘A’.
A PCB source privy to the developments said the PCB has also proposed to the BCB to bring their Test team to Rawalpindi as soon as possible to ensure the series takes place. “The PCB has offered to host their players for extra days and provide them all the training facilities in Rawalpindi ahead of the Test matches but they have not responded yet,” the source said.
