Pakistan’s interim government has intervened, halting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) from auctioning media rights for international matches and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Zaka Ashraf, the head of the Cricket Management Committee (CMC), has deferred his Australia visit to meet with caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakaar, who oversees the board.
The Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (sports) issued a directive requiring government approval for significant deals, signaling a lack of confidence in the CMC.

The PCB, anticipating earnings of 8-9 billion rupees, faces concerns over delayed negotiations and potential impact on media rights rates. The uncertainty has also impeded the release of the PSL 9 schedule, contingent on successful media rights sales.
