Rain Threat Looms on IND vs SL 1st ODI? Here is the Full Weather Report

India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI could be washed out

The Indian cricket team will face Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2 (Friday). This series marks the return of the legendary duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the cricket field following their historic triumph and retirement from T20Is after the recent T20 World Cup 2024. India enters this match on the back of a 3-0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka in the T20Is, and fans are eager to see Rohit and Virat play again. This will also be their first series under the new head coach, Gautam Gambhir. However, heavy and persistent rain is forecasted and may disrupt the match.

Colombo Weather Forecast

The weather forecast for Colombo predicts a high likelihood of rain on August 2, with precipitation chances reaching up to 70 percent, which may interfere with the match. Rain similarly threatened the T20I series but did not affect the results. Hopefully, fans will get to see their favorite cricketers in action. All three ODIs are scheduled to be played at this venue, and if rain causes a washout, only two games will remain to decide the series outcome.
