Rehan Ahmed’s father, Naeem Ahmed, originally born in Pakistan, was a former cricketer who played as a fast-bowling all-rounder before relocating to England. Notably, Rehan’s cricketing lineage extends to his brothers, Farhan and Raheem, who are also actively involved in the sport.

Rehan’s cricket journey started in the youth set up at Nottinghamshire, but he made a significant move to Leicestershire in 2017. Even at the age of 13, he garnered attention as one of the brightest prospects in English cricket. His remarkable performances continued in ODIs and T20Is. Ahmed made his ODI debut in March 2023, becoming the youngest male cricketer for England in ODIs at 18 years and 205 days. He followed this with a T20I debut on 12 March 2023, becoming the youngest male cricketer for England in T20Is at 18 years and 211 days. In recognition of his achievements, he was shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award in December 2022.
