Rovman Powell, born on July 23, 1993, hails from Jamaica and represents the West Indies cricket team, currently leading as captain in the T20I format. In December 2018, he made his captaincy debut in a One Day International (ODI) match against Bangladesh. In domestic cricket, he has showcased his talent while playing for Jamaica, the Combined Campuses and Colleges, and the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Rovman Powell Domestic and T20 Career
Rovman Powell’s cricket journey began in January 2015 when he made his List A debut for the Combined Campuses against Guyana in the 2014–15 Regional Super50, showcasing an impressive performance with both bat and ball, earning him the man of the match title. He then made his first-class debut in the 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition for Jamaica against Guyana. During the 2015–16 Regional Super50, Powell returned to the Combined Campuses, ending the tournament with twin half-centuries in crucial matches. His outstanding performances continued as he played a pivotal role in Jamaica’s progress to the final of the 2016-17 Regional Super50, where he smashed 95 runs from just 45 balls and took 5 wickets in the semi-final, earning him the man-of-the-match award.
Recognizing his talent, Cricket West Indies (CWI) awarded him a white-ball contract for the 2018–19 season. Powell’s leadership skills were acknowledged when he was appointed captain of Jamaica’s squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer for his team. His prowess in T20 cricket was evident as he was picked up by various franchises including Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and Kandy Warriors in the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
In February 2022, Powell’s journey in the IPL continued as he was acquired by the Delhi Capitals in the auction for the 2022 season.
