Sarfaraz Khan, a legend in the making in domestic cricket, was ignored by the BCCI while selecting the squad for the Test series against Australia. The wicketkeeper batter is notching up centuries after centuries in first-class cricket and yet failed to find a place in the Test squad of India for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
He has an average of over 85 in first-class cricket, which is second only to the greatest of all time, Don Bradman. In his latest knock, Sarfaraz Khan scored a hard-fought century at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi, where the other batters struggled to time the ball. He gave an interview in which he blasted the BCCI and selectors for making him hopeful and yet not giving him a chance anyways.
Sarfaraz Khan also replied with the bat to those people who term him as overweight. He recently said that he is completely fit and has cleared the Yo-Yo Test, which Team India considers as the basic requirement for playing cricket at the national level. Harsha Bhogle and Wasim Jaffer are a few of the famous cricket personalities who have openly supported Sarfaraz Khan in this tough time.
The fans of the Indian cricket team and Sarfaraz Khan have also come out in his support on social media handles. An Indian cricket fan Tweeted, “Sarfaraz dhokha nhi dega” and listed his achievements in the first-class cricket to open the eyes of BCCI Chief Selector Chetan Sharma.
Here’s how the fans of Sarfaraz Khan are lashing out at BCCI for ignoring him:
"Sarfaraz Dhokha Nhi Dega" #SarfarazKhan has done the most unthinkable things in first class cricket but #BCCISelectionCommittee keeps ignoring him.

What a century and Moosewala-style celebration. Coach Amol Mazumdar can't be more proud. He averages around 80+ in first class. Deserves a Test call. Reward Ranji Trophy @BCCI pic.twitter.com/r1fIM45M1O
How the hell #SarfarazKhan cannot be picked for the Border Gavaskar Trophy?

He has been scoring a huge amount of runs from the last 4 years. If fitness is the primary issue then why Rohit Sharma is picked for every series?#RohitSharma #INDvsAUS
