Despite criticism from former players, the Pakistan Cricket Board under Ramiz Raja’s leadership left Malik out of the ICC T20 World Cup squad. Despite this, Malik’s T20 credentials are undeniable, with 124 T20I appearances, 2435 runs at an average of 31.21, and 9 half-centuries to his name. Not to mention, he’s taken 28 wickets as well!

As we look ahead to the 2024 T20 World Cup, Shoaib Malik will be 42 years old. Although it’s uncertain if the Pakistan Cricket Board will recall him, one thing is for sure – Malik is not ready to bid farewell to the international stage just yet.
