The difference between the highest scorer and the second-highest scorer in India’s inning was 174 runs which is a record in ODI cricket history. Shubman Gill blasted a hattrick of sixes on the first three balls of the 49th over bowled by Lockie Ferguson to reach the epic milestone.
He became the 5th Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan to score a double century in ODI cricket. Gill reached the 200-run mark with a straight six off the third ball of the 49th over bowled by Lockie Ferguson.
