The bowler represents Delhi in the domestic circuit and has finally made his way to the big stage in Tata IPL.
Simarjeet Singh was earlier part of the Mumbai Indians in 2021. He replaced an injured Arjun Tendulkar in Mumbai’s squad during the previous season of IPL.
The 24-year-old bowler was born in Delhi on 17 January 1998. He made his List A debut for Delhi in the domestic cricket tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018.
Simarjeet Singh made his first-class debut for Delhi in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy and went on to make his T20 debut for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy of 2019-20.
Surprisingly Simrajeet was part of the Indian setup even before he made his debut for CSK in IPL. He was named as one of the net bowlers for India in their tour to Sri Lanka during the pandemic.
Simarjeet was actually included in the Indian national cricket team squad after one of the bowlers from the Indian team tested covid positive. However, he could not get the opportunity to make a debut on the international stage.
Chennai Super Kings bought him in the Tata IPL 2022 Mega Auction for his base price of ₹20 lakh. Will the right-arm medium pacer turn around the fortunes of his franchise in the ongoing tournament?
