The Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday announced South Africa’s Aiden Markram as their new captain for IPL 2023.
Markram joined SRH in the 2022 edition of the league and was one of the side’s most consistent performers.
“THE. WAIT. IS. OVER. #OrangeArmy, say hello to our new captain Aiden Markram,” tweeted SRH.
Markram has scored 381 runs for SRH in 12 innings at an impressive strike rate of 139.05 and an average of 47.62 including 3 half-centuries.

Apart from Aiden Markram, Mayank Aggarwal, who led Punjab Kings in the previous season of the tournament, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of the senior most players in the side, were also in the race for captaincy.
