Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria says, Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam are third class

Pakistan legend spinner Danish Kaneria once again criticized Pakistan Team Management and Babar Azam over the selection of players in the second test against New Zealand. While Shahid Afridi is the chief selector, the management is headed by captain Babar Azam and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Kaneria is dissatisfied with the players chosen for the second Test against New Zealand. However, he also stated that Babar is not solely to blame for the mess because others are involved in the process.

“Incompetent selection committee and team management have put the home team in trouble by selecting such a team for the second Test against New Zealand. The players are being picked based on friendship and Babar is not alone responsible,” he said.

The 42-year-old said Pakistan cricket is in the wrong hands, citing changes to the selection panel and PCB chairman post.

“Pakistan’s selection committee (Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, and Rao Iftikhar) and team management ( Saqlain Mushtaq and Babar Azam) are third class,” he added. “A lot of cheap people have come back and occupied top positions in the PCB.”

Watch- Babar Azam Gets Run Out in a Funny Mix-Up with Imam Ul Haq in PAK vs NZ 2nd Test

Babar Azam and Imam-Ul-Haq were involved in one of the most typical Pakistani runouts. The two created such a mishap that social media is already coming out with memes that blast the calling of the Pakistani cricket team while running between the wickets.

Babar Azam tucked the ball through mid-wicket, and Nicholls chased after it. The batters completed two runs, and Babar was keen on the third. Imam called but then stopped running, and both batters ended on the same side. Michael Bracewell ripped off the bails, and it was adjudged that Babar Azam was the one to go back to the pavilion.

    Imam-ul-haq

However, what is even more surprising is that Imam-Ul-Haq was seen giving a mouthful to his captain. On television, it appeared that it was more of Imam’s fault, but on the ground, Imam did not really think so. The Pakistani team cricket team has once again produced a moment which will make cricket lovers laugh for quite a long amount of time.

Shahid Afridi made a big statement on Babar Azam and Rizwan “We will not select players who have a strike rate less than 135”

Current chief Selector Shahid Afridi criticized Pakistani batters for their strike rate. He recently stated on Pakistan news channel that batters who do not have a strike rate of 130-135 or higher will not be selected for the T20I team. He indirectly targeted Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam for their T20 strike rate.

Rizwan and Babar both have a strike rate of less than 130 in T20I. Afridi stated that this is the criteria he is establishing for domestic batters who want to play for Pakistan in T20Is. This follows criticism of Pakistan’s batters strike rate in the shortest format, which was evident during the T20 World Cup. Pakistan reached the final of T20 World Cup 2022 but their approach towards cricket was highly questionable.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan strike rate in T20s is not up to the mark
    Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan

Batters will no longer be selected in T20s for Pakistan who have a strike rate below 130-135 in domestic cricket,” Shahid Afridi, chief selector said during his conversation with Samaa TV

Cricket fans on Twitter made fun of this statement by Afridi. If this rule is strictly applied then both Babar Azam and Rizwan will not be selected for T20 in the future. Babar Azam’s strike rate in PSL is 121 whereas Mohammad Rizwan’s strike rate if 123 which is way too low.

New Zealand was 345 for 9 and then came Matt Henry & Ajaz Patel brilliant partnership of 104 runs for the last wicket. Pakistan came back strongly yesterday with New Zealand 234 for 1 at one stage. Both Matt Henry and Ajaz Patel batted beautifully. Babar Azam was clueless with his captaincy and fans were angry with the Pakistan Cricket Team.

Matt Henry started the onslaught by scoring 16 runs in the Naseem Shah over. Ajaz Patel also batted sensibly with Henry and scored 35 after finally falling to Abrar Ahmed.

Cricket fans trolled Babar Azam captaincy and demands a change in the leader.

Babar Azam held a press conference after his team somehow managed to draw the 1st Test match against New Zealand in Karachi. At the end of the press conference, there was a very awkward moment when Babar Azam gave a death stare to Shoaib Jatt, a reporter who asked Babar a question, but the latter decided to go away without answering it.

When Babar Azam was trying to get up from the chair to leave the press conference, the reporter shouted, “Yeh Koi Tareeka Nahi Hai, Yahan Sawaal Ke Liye Aapko Ishaare Kar Rahe Hain.” This apparently made Babar Azam very angry, and he gave a death stare to the reporter, which is now going viral on social media.

PCB to Sack Babar Azam after the Series vs New Zealand- Hints New Chairman

Najam Sethi recently took over the post of Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman after the sacking of Ramiz Raja. Since then, he has made some striking decisions which have caused a ruckus in the Pakistani cricketing world. The latest report is that PCB is looking for a new captain in the Test format. Najam Sethi has shown his interest in removing the current captain Babar Azam and finding a new option that can guarantee Pakistan’s wins in the game’s longest format.

Why is PCB Sacking Babar Azam as Captain from the Tests?

Najam Sethi said in his first press conference that he wants to create a side that can give the opponents tough competition. He removed the entire selection committee of Pakistan after taking over the Chairman position. He has introduced a temporary selection committee which has Shahid Afridi as its lead. After the introduction of this committee, Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of Pakistan, was finally able to play his 50th Test match. He was given a chance to play in the Tests after 4 long years.

Babar Azam is failing as a captain in the game’s longest format. He has lost the last four Test matches at home, and the England cricket team whitewashed his team. All of these failures of Babar Azam as captain have PCB rethinking his stature as captain in the game’s longest format. A source from PCB has talked to Cricreads about the future of the Pakistan cricket team in the longest format.

The source revealed, “Najam Sethi is a strict administrator. He is looking to rebuild the Pakistani team in the longest format of the game. He is not going to interfere with the ODI team as the World Cup is quite near, but he will surely take action on the failures of the Pakistani cricket team in Test cricket. You can soon hear the news about Babar Azam’s end of captaincy in Tests.”

Who do you think will captain the Pakistan cricket team in the Tests if PCB goes forward with its thinking of removing Babar Azam as captain in Tests?

Watch Sarfaraz and Rizwan in confusion over who is the stand-in captain. Funny Video

he first of a two-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand is taking place in Karachi. While the home team had a strong showing with the bat, scoring 436 runs, the Kiwis responded with a strong reply thanks to openers Tom Latham (113) and Devon Conway (92) who put together a 183-run stand for the first wicket. However, confusion erupted on Day 3’s first hour when Mohammad Rizwan, a substitute player, took the field in place of Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam before play was supposed to resume.

Moreover, Rizwan was also seen setting the fielding placements as he assumed leadership responsibilities because he was the vice-captain in the previous series. There was one problem, however – according to the rules set by the Marylebone Cricket Club (24.1.2 law), “A substitute shall not bowl or act as captain but may act as wicket-keeper only with the consent of the umpires.”

When Pakistan decided to review Conway, there was a funny confusion. Left-arm spinner Abrar Ahmed caught the New Zealand opener leg before, and when umpire Aleem Dar declared not-out, Sarfaraz and Rizwan approached Abrar to talk. Rizwan and Sarfaraz, incidentally, both made the motion for the review.

  • Top 7 Players expected to perform in Pakistan vs England Test Series 2022

The much-anticipated Pakistan vs England Test series is just around the corner. This will be a historic series for Pakistan, as it will be the first time England has played Test cricket in Pakistan since 2005. The series will consist of three matches, to be played in Rawalpindi (1-5 December), Karachi (9-13 December), and Multan (17-21 December). In this article, we will take a look at the top 7 players from both sides who are expected to perform well in the series.

    1. Babar Azam (PAK)

Captain Babar Azam is one of the most exciting cricket players in the world. He can score runs quickly and efficiently, making him a nightmare for opposing teams. In 42 Test matches, he has scored 3122 runs with a batting average close to 48. He has also hit 7 centuries and 23 half-centuries, with 196 being his highest score. Pakistani fans expect their captain to lead from the front, which is something he always does.

    2. Ben Stokes (ENG)

As England’s all-rounder and captain, Ben Stokes will be looking to lead his team to victory against Pakistan in the upcoming test series, beginning on December 1st, 2022. Stokes has been a stalwart in England’s batting order, especially with the top order being fragile in recent times. In 86 Test matches, he has scored 5429 runs, including 12 hundred and 28 fifties, with 258 being his highest score. With the ball, he has 192 wickets under his belt. Under the guidance of England coach “Brendon McCullum,” Stokes’ leadership will be pivotal for England against Pakistan.

    3. Imam-ul-Haq (PAK)

Imam-ul-Haq is another key player for Pakistan who performed exceptionally well against Australia earlier this year. In 16 tests he has played so far, Haq has averaged 34 runs per innings with four half-centuries and 2 centuries scoring 973 runs so far in test cricket, with 157 being his highest score. His consistency at the top of the order gives Pakistan a solid base from which to build their innings. He will be a player to watch out for in the upcoming series against England.

    4. Joe Root (ENG)

Joe Root has been in great form over the past few years, scoring an impressive 10,504 runs in 124 matches at an average of 50. He has 28 hundred and 54 fifties under his belt, with the highest score of 254. Root has looked more free-flowing with the bat since being relieved of captaincy duties, and he loves playing on Asian pitches. If the Pakistani bowlers couldn’t control him, he can take the game away from the hosts single-handedly. We can expect another stellar performance from Root this week as England takes on Pakistan.

    5. Abdullah Shafique (PAK)

Abdullah Shafique has shown great potential in international cricket, averaging over 66 in just 7 appearances. He has scored 736 runs in total, with 2 hundred and 4 fifties, and the highest score of 160. If he continues to perform at this level, there’s no telling what he could do given an extended run in the Test format, especially against teams like England who haven’t played on Pakistani soil in 17 years.

    6. James Anderson (ENG)

As one of the most experienced and consistent players in Test cricket, James Anderson is a formidable opponent. He excels at moderate-pace bowling, which often confounds batsmen. In his 175 match appearances, he has taken 667 wickets, including 32 five-wicket hauls and 30 four-wicket hauls. His most impressive bowling figure is 7/42. If Pakistan wants to win this series convincingly, they will need to find a way to control Anderson.

    7. Azhar Ali (PAK)

At present, Azhar Ali is one of the most complete test batsmen in Pakistan’s Test squad, and the team will be hoping he can provide his experience against the visiting English side. With an average of over 42 in Tests and 7030 total runs, 19 hundred, and 35 fifties under his belt, he is a difficult player to get out. His batting skills are unmatched, and he will be looking to score lots of runs for his team just like he has on multiple occasions recently.

  • England lift the T20 World Cup Down Under as Stokes buries the ghosts of 2016 and guides them to greatness

Rain threatened to steal fans of a scintillating encounter as forecasts seemed bleak for the rain gods decided to shower mercy on the fans worldwide. The sun shone brightly and lit up the eyes of the all as Pakistan and England were all set to chase their dream of winning a world cup.

Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first, an important moment in the game with the rain threat looming but mainly cause batting first in an all-important final can always prove to be a difficult ask. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came into the game after finding some form but failed to press the accelerator at any moment during the first 6 overs. Both batters struggled to score boundaries and Rizwan perished once again trying to play on the off-side. Mohammad Haris failed to provide any impetus to the innings as he fell prey to shrewd and excellent captaincy of Jos Buttler and guile of Adil Rashid. Shan Masood walked out with a great buzz and looked busy on the crease, placing the balls in gaps, running quick twos and took Livingstone to the cleaners in the 11th over scoring 16 runs off it.

Rashid who had a quiet tournament in terms of wickets rose to the occasion as he foxed Pakistani skipper with a googly and accounted for his wicket. Ben Stokes was brought back into the attack to extract something out of the surface that had extra bounce and immediately surprised Iftikhar with a sharp delivery that got his edge. Shabab and Masood did steady the ship a little with their fightback but Sam Curran, England death overs specialist this edition ran through the batting order and strangled the run flow in the last few overs. Pakistan reached a below par total of 137-8 but boasted of possessing the best bowling attack of the campaign.

Shaheen Shah Afridi may not be at 100% fitness but his dedication and determination to contribute cannot be questioned. A wicket in his over is almost an inevitable event as the pacer accounted for Alex Hales with a beautiful delivery that rocked his leg stump. Naseem Shah begun his spell with excellent lines as he had Buttler fending and poking but the skipper had a resolute determined look in his eyes and stamped his authority as they raced to 28 of 3 overs. Salt looked to play aggressively and fell in the process as Naseem Shah ran in and made Buttler dance in the crease, making the world class batter look out of sorts, a great advocate of the talent that Pakistan produces. Buttler scooped him for a six behind the keeper as he continued to be brave and rode his luck. The local lad Haris Rauf was steaming in and getting to the ball to dance on his tunes and in a moment that stunned the expectant crowd at MCG, Rauf bowls it at a length and ball springs off the surface taking the edge with it.

England were in a spot of bother but were not in panic state yet with their deep batting line up and heartthrob Stokes at the crease. He along with Harry Brooks saw through a tricky phase of play, playing cautiously and not taking too many chances, a luxury they could afford after a strong start in the powerplay. Brooks fell after a slow but handy contribution and Moeen Ali walked out to a tense atmosphere at the ‘G.’ Naseem Shah was amid a wonderful spell that had shades of Wahab Riaz 2015 but ended his spell wicketless and disappointed.

Shaheen Afridi walked out of the field limping and holding his knee, a visual that no Pakistan fan would enjoy. Stokes and Ali played within themselves and the required climbed up to nervous levels but Shaheen Afridi’s injury meant that Babar Azam needed to finish his quota from elsewhere. Iftikhar Ahmed was thrown the ball and Stokes decided to push the pedal, scoring 10 off two deliveries. Moeen Ali too stepped on the gas and smashed Wasim Jr for three boundaries and England completely blew the game away from Pakistan, requiring just 12 of the last 3 overs. Ali fell but English cricket’s poster boy made that the he saw his team to the end and with 1 run required to win, Stokes swings to the legside and lets out a huge roar as England come out triumphant and Stokes white ball legacy reaches a full circle, with the ghosts of 2016 being buried to the ground. The cricketing world will remember his name for years to come as someone who rose from the flames to climb the mountain and achieve the unthinkable.

Jos Buttler being handed over the captaincy just 6 months prior to the campaign, flies’ home with a T20 World Cup trophy in his cabinet as England’s white ball continues to soar and reach level of new greatness.
