IPL 2023: 3 most iconic trios in IPL history

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is around the corner, fans all over the world are eagerly waiting to see their favorite players and teams in action once again. IPL has been a platform for young and upcoming players to showcase their talent and for seasoned players to prove their mettle in the shortest format of the game. Over the years, the league has witnessed some of the most iconic trios in the history of franchise cricket.

Here are three of the most iconic trios in IPL history:

    1) Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

This trio needs no introduction. The combination of Kohli, Gayle, and de Villiers was a nightmare for bowlers. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli used to open the innings, and Gayle would smash the bowlers to all parts of the ground while Kohli played some ridiculously good innings. AB de Villiers would come in the middle overs and change the course of the game with his unorthodox stroke play.

The trio played a crucial role in taking RCB to the finals in 2011, and 2016. They hold the record for the highest partnership in IPL history (229 runs) against Gujarat Lions in 2016. Gayle and de Villiers might not be a part of RCB anymore, but the legacy of this iconic trio will remain forever.

    2) MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja – Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in IPL history, and the trio of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial role in their success. Dhoni is arguably the best captain in the history of the game, Raina was the leading run-scorer in the league for quite a while, and Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the game.

    CSK Trio

The trio played a crucial role in taking CSK to the finals eight times and winning the title three times. Raina might not be a part of CSK anymore, but the legacy of this iconic trio will remain forever.

    3) Rashid Khan, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

    SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad has always had a strong bowling attack, and the trio of Rashid Khan, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner made them a force to reckon with. Rashid Khan is an unplayable mystery spinner who can also smack the ball. Dhawan is a solid opener who can anchor the innings, while Warner is a destructive opener who can take the game away from the opposition single-handedly.

    SRH

The trio might not be together anymore, with Dhawan playing for Punjab Kings, Rashid for Gujarat Titans and Warner for Delhi Capitals, but their legacy will remain forever.

IPL 2023: Virat Kohli to bat at number three; Finn Allen to open with Faf du Plessis – Reports

As the countdown to IPL 2023 begins, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team management is busy finalizing its squad and strategy. One of the key decisions that have been made is to have Finn Allen open the batting with Faf du Plessis for the team.

    Faf and Virat

Finn Allen, the young wicket-keeper batter from New Zealand, has been part of the RCB squad for two seasons now but is yet to play his first IPL match. With his impressive track record in T20Is, the RCB think tank believes that he can bring the firepower to the top of the batting order.

Having scored 567 runs in 25 T20Is for New Zealand, Finn Allen boasts an impressive strike rate of over 160. His explosive style of batting has caught the attention of many experts and fans alike, and pairing him with Faf du Plessis could prove to be a lethal combination.

Faf du Plessis has been one of the most consistent performers for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, scoring over 400 runs in each of the last two seasons. His experience and class make him the perfect partner for a young and dynamic opener like Finn Allen.

Another significant decision that has been made by the RCB team management is to have Virat Kohli bat at number three. Kohli has been a mainstay in the RCB batting lineup for years, and his ability to anchor the innings and play big shots when required makes him a crucial player in the team’s plans.

By moving Kohli to number three, the RCB team management is hoping to provide greater stability to the batting order. Kohli’s presence in the middle order will allow the team to take greater risks at the top of the order, knowing that they have a solid foundation to build upon.

Overall, the RCB team management’s decision to have Finn Allen open with Faf du Plessis and Kohli at number three is a bold move that could pay rich dividends.

IPL 2023: Virat Kohli to Open for RCB With Faf Du Plessis

Virat Kohli is going through a lean patch in the longest format of the game. However, he was absolutely phenomenal for the India cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2022. He recently came back to form in ODI cricket as well. Kohli’s striking ability has come back to him, and he is looking to open the innings with Faf Du Plessis for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli to Open for RCB With Faf Du Plessis IPL 2023

In the Indian Premier League 2022, RCB started with the opening pair of Anuj Rawat and Faf Du Plessis, but Rawat was dropped in the later half of the tournament, and his place of an opener was filled by Virat Kohli. It seems that Virat Kohli will continue as the opener for RCB in IPL 2023.

Finn Allen is another option that RCB can use as an opener in IPL 2023. However, his recent form in the subcontinet has been quite disappointing, which indicates that RCB will keep themselves at bay with the decision to open the batting with Finn Allen and Faf Du Plessis.

IPL 2023 will start on 31st March 2023. The tournament will have a total of 74 matches. A total of 14 venues will hold this games.

Here are 3 players that RCB can use as ‘Impact Player’ in IPL 2023:

    1. Dinesh Karthik

Karthik can be used as an impact player because he is the team’s established finisher and can adapt to any situation very quickly. Moreover, his experience could prove to be very beneficial for RCB. He represented India in both the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup, although he was unable to produce any memorable innings. IPL 2023 may be his last IPL season.

    2. Rajat Patidar

Patidar contributed significantly to RCB in the last season. In the 8 games he played, he scored 333 runs, including a knock of 112 against the Lucknow Super Giants. In qualifier 2, which Rajasthan Royals ultimately won, he scored 58. He has the potential to be an impact player for RCB.

    3. Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz Ahmed appeared in a couple of cameos with Dinesh Karthik in the last season. If he is employed as an impact player, he can make a difference with both the bat and the ball. Shahbaz made his white-ball debut against South Africa recently.
