As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is around the corner, fans all over the world are eagerly waiting to see their favorite players and teams in action once again. IPL has been a platform for young and upcoming players to showcase their talent and for seasoned players to prove their mettle in the shortest format of the game. Over the years, the league has witnessed some of the most iconic trios in the history of franchise cricket.

Here are three of the most iconic trios in IPL history:

    1) Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

This trio needs no introduction. The combination of Kohli, Gayle, and de Villiers was a nightmare for bowlers. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli used to open the innings, and Gayle would smash the bowlers to all parts of the ground while Kohli played some ridiculously good innings. AB de Villiers would come in the middle overs and change the course of the game with his unorthodox stroke play.

The trio played a crucial role in taking RCB to the finals in 2011, and 2016. They hold the record for the highest partnership in IPL history (229 runs) against Gujarat Lions in 2016. Gayle and de Villiers might not be a part of RCB anymore, but the legacy of this iconic trio will remain forever.

    2) MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja – Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in IPL history, and the trio of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial role in their success. Dhoni is arguably the best captain in the history of the game, Raina was the leading run-scorer in the league for quite a while, and Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the game.

    CSK Trio

The trio played a crucial role in taking CSK to the finals eight times and winning the title three times. Raina might not be a part of CSK anymore, but the legacy of this iconic trio will remain forever.

    3) Rashid Khan, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

    SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad has always had a strong bowling attack, and the trio of Rashid Khan, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner made them a force to reckon with. Rashid Khan is an unplayable mystery spinner who can also smack the ball. Dhawan is a solid opener who can anchor the innings, while Warner is a destructive opener who can take the game away from the opposition single-handedly.

    SRH

The trio might not be together anymore, with Dhawan playing for Punjab Kings, Rashid for Gujarat Titans and Warner for Delhi Capitals, but their legacy will remain forever.
