iFest 2023 has started with a bang as Team Rankers have somehow managed to defeat the defending champions Team Affiliates in the last over of a thrilling contest.

Team Affiliates batted first in the match and posted a total of 103/8 in 15 overs. Tanuj Kwatra, Vishu Jain, Ronit Nahata, and Vaibhav Goel scored 21 (16), 15 (10), 14 (14)*, and 11 (9)*, respectively, to take their team to a respectable total.

The ball was not coming on to the bat due to the dew and therefore it was actually a valiant effort by the defending champions to somehow go past a hundred runs in their innings. Also, the square boundary was quite big and this posed a few problems for the Affiliates batter who are considered to be strong on the square of the wicket.

Team Rankers chased down the target in the last over of the match with only 5 balls to spare. Vishu Jain bowled an exceptional spell that almost put the brakes on the Rankers’ chase. Ultimately, the Rankers managed to put on a gritty performance to steal the victory.
