The Indian cricket team has commenced its preparations for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA. Following their disappointing loss to Australia in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad, Rohit Sharma and his team are eager for redemption. India, which won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2008, has not secured another title in this format since. Moreover, the team has not claimed any ICC trophies since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
The 2024 T20 World Cup represents a crucial opportunity for India to break this dry spell. However, according to a report by News18, the team is dissatisfied with the practice facilities available in the USA, one of the tournament’s hosts.
According to a report, the Indian cricket team has expressed dissatisfaction with the practice facilities in the USA, one of the hosts of the 2024 T20 World Cup. “Everything is makeshift—from pitches to other facilities. It’s safe to say everything is very average in nature. The team has raised their concerns,” a source quoted in the report stated.
It also mentioned that coach Rahul Dravid is unhappy with the “average” facilities at Cantiague Park, where the team is training. The report added that the team has contacted the ICC regarding these issues. However, the ICC responded, “There has been no complaint or concern expressed regarding the practice facilities at Cantiague Park by any team.”

Following two months of intense competitive cricket under night lights, the Indian cricket team, excluding Virat Kohli, began its T20 World Cup preparations with a morning training session, considering the 10:30 AM starts for all its preliminary games. Kohli, who took a break for personal reasons after RCB’s IPL exit, is expected to join the squad by Friday. However, it is uncertain if he will participate in the only warm-up game against Bangladesh on Saturday due to the long flight.
