The high-profile match between India and Pakistan is going to certain enhanced safety measures to counter any terror activities that may happen. Not just on ground but the security forces have started to keep a keen eye on the sky as well.
According to reports, ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan) has spoken about ‘lone wolf’ attacks. In a video released by ISIS, independent attackers are instructed to disrupt events. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder confirmed the threat and discussed security measures in response. In a ‘lone wolf’ attack, an individual plans and carries out the act independently.

A lone wolf attack or lone actor attack is a specific type of mass killing, carried out publicly by an individual who independently plans and executes the act. In the United States, such attacks are typically carried out with firearms. In other countries, knives are sometimes used to injure multiple people collectively. Although definitions vary, this type of mass killing generally involves at least four victims (including the injured).
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has also stated regarding the security related to the India-Pakistan match that she is working with security officials to ensure that the match can proceed smoothly. According to a statement from the governor’s office, the situation is being closely monitored. According to confidential information, there is currently no security threat regarding the match.
