The last few months have been full of ups and downs for Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya, who was injured during the ODI World Cup last year, managed to make a comeback after a long time. Earlier, he was injured during the Asia Cup in 2018, due to which he remained away from cricket for a long time. Hardik Pandya has lost the captaincy of India due to fitness problems.
In his place, the selectors have chosen Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the T20 team. However, there is still doubt about his place in the ODI team. Hardik is capable of bowling in the shortest format of the game but he has not played ODIs since his comeback, so the BCCI will keep an eye on his bowling during the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
According to reports, given the serious condition of Hardik’s previous injury, the BCCI will keep an eye on him during the Vijay Hazare Trophy and will then take a decision on his place in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 team. India will play only 6 ODIs before this tournament in Pakistan, for which the Indian selectors are already preparing.
Hardik Pandya has sought a break from the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka due to personal reasons, which means Hardik will have only three matches left to make it to the ODI team. India will then play the ODI series against England.
A BCCI source said, “However, after returning from injury, he has performed exceptionally by bowling just four overs in T20 cricket. But he has not been tested in the longer format. His stamina needs to be monitored. The selectors will keep an eye on how he performs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy later in the year.”
