Umesh Yadav thinks that this might be his last opportunity to play the World Cup for India

This upcoming edition of Indian Premier League is very crucial for a lot of Indian players who want to find a spot in the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup which is scheduled to be played in India from 5th October 2023. Sanju Samson, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Rana and many other Indian players would be eager to prove their skills in IPL 2023 to get a chance to play in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Indian Premier League 2023 will commence with a clash between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 31st March 2023. This year the tournament is being looked at as the platform to find a spot in the Indian squad for ODI World.

Umesh Yadav is an experience Indian pace bowler who has represented India in the 2015 ODI World Cup. He missed out on the squad of 2019 World Cup but hopes to make a return for the 2023 World Cup. The Indian bowler will play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2023.

In a recent interview with a news portal, Umesh Yadav said, “The ODI World Cup is played after every four years and this can be my last opportunity to be a part of it. So I need to do well in IPL and make a comeback in ODI format.”

“As I said the World Cup comes after every four years and I’m not sure if I’ll be around then. Hence I want to make this season count and not wait for another four years,” he further added.
