The former Indian cricketer and World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir does not mince his words when it comes to Indian cricket. He has often criticised the Indian batters for their conservative approach. However, Gambhir, too, was elated by the performance of Virat Kohli in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka.

Virat Kohli scored 166* off 110 with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka. He was named player of the match and player of the series for his great contribution to India’s win in the series. Gautam Gambhir found his inning quite fascinating and came up with a prediction.

In the post-match discussion, Gautam Gambhir said, “this will be Virat Kohli’s best year.” He further added that he was not surprised by the century that Virat Kohli scored. For him, the best thing about Virat Kohli’s inning was the sixes that he struck after getting his century. Gambhir lauded Kohli for his effortless inning.

However, Gautam Gambhir came down hard on Rohit Sharma and said that the Indian cricket fans should show the same type of response for Rohit Sharma that they showed for Virat Kohli when he was out of form. He said that Rohit needs to get big hundreds to help India win the upcoming World Cup.
