In February 2023, Tony De Zorzi earned a spot in the South African Test squad for the series against West Indies.[19] His Test debut came on 28 February 2023 against West Indies. Subsequently, in March 2023, he was selected for South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) squad for the series against the West Indies. De Zorzi made his ODI debut during the second ODI on 18 March 2023. Recognizing his leadership abilities, he was appointed as the captain of the South Africa A squad for their tour to Sri Lanka in April 2023.
