Virat Kohli, the Indian run machine has stormed back to form since the T20 World Cup 2022 and he is looking unstoppable at the moment. The RCB star won the Orange Cap in Tata IPL 2024 by scoring 741 runs at a strike rate of 154 with a century and five half centuries to his name. Kohli reinvented his game in this year’s edition by introducing attacking shots against spin to attain a formidable strike rate.
The next best in the Orange Cap list in 2024 was Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 583 runs in 14 matches. Kohli was leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else in IPL 2024. He has previously won the Orange Cap in IPL 2016 when he was in the form of his life. Kohli scored 973 runs in that season, which is still a record that no one is able to break.
However, Virat Kohli is still behind the Australian opener David Warner, when it comes to winning the most Orange Caps in IPL history. Warner has won the cap three times, while Kohli and Gayle has managed to win twice. Chris Gayle is the only person to win the Orange Cap twice in a row.
