Many new records were created in IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the most lopsided IPL Final in the history of the tournament. It was a complete domination all fronts by the KKR over the SRH. There were many records that were broken and created during this season. Here is a full list of them.

1- Shortest Ever IPL Final or Playoff Match

The IPL 2024 Final between KKR and SRH lasted only 29 overs making it the shortest non-interrupted playoffs game in the history. The previous shortest was between RCB and DC in IPL 2010 for the third place, which lasted 32.2 overs.

2- Sunil Narine Becomes the Only Player to Win the MVP Award Thrice

  • 357 runs + 17 wickets in IPL 2018
  • 488 runs + 17 wickets in IPL 2024

3- Highest Run-Rate Ever in a Season

The aggregate run rate in IPL 2024 is 9.46, which is the highest ever in an IPL season.

4- Most 200+ Totals

A total of 41 times, the mark of 200 runs was crossed in IPL 2024. In no other edition, 200 has been scored this many times.

5- Most Sixes Hit

A total of 1260 sixes were hit, most for any IPL season.

6- 14 Individual Centuries

7- Highest Ever IPL Total

287/3 SRH vs RCB in Bengaluru is the highest ever total in an IPL match.

8- Highest Successful T20 Chase

262 by Punjab Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens is the highest ever successful chase in IPL and overall T20 matches.

9- Most Runs in a T20 Match

SRH vs RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru produced 549 runs, the most for any T20 match in the history of cricket.
