Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has achieved a remarkable milestone in the realm of multi-nation tournaments. Virat Kohli reached this historic milestone during the ongoing match against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023, held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. His 100th catch in multi-nation tournaments came when he successfully fielded Aasif Sheikh.

The pivotal moment occurred when Mohammed Siraj delivered a back-of-a-length ball on off stump. Aasif Sheikh, attempting to play it into the leg side, closed the bat face early. This resulted in a leading edge, sending the ball skyward towards cover. Despite initial hesitation, Virat Kohli managed to secure the catch with a one-handed grab.

It’s noteworthy that Virat Kohli missed a catch from Aasif Sheikh in the second over of the match. The dropped catch was a straightforward opportunity, and it led to a brief juggle before the ball ultimately fell to the ground. Nevertheless, Kohli made amends with his one-handed catch to reach the milestone.

With this catch, Virat Kohli has now completed 143 catches in One Day Internationals (ODIs), securing his fourth place on the all-time list of most catches in the history of 50-over format cricket.

In the exclusive realm of multi-nation tournaments, Virat Kohli now shares the pinnacle with former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, both having notched up 100 catches. In third place is the current Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, with an impressive tally of 80 catches.
