Two remarkable Asian athletes have made it to the list of the world’s highest-paid athletes, with Virat Kohli being one of them. With an impressive earnings figure of 33.3 million dollars, the Indian cricket icon secures the second spot on the Sportico ranking, comprising salary and endorsement deals.

Kohli’s income comprises a substantial 2.9 million dollars from his salary as a cricketer, along with a staggering 31 million dollars from various endorsement contracts. While this feat places him among the top earners globally, he is outdone by Naomi Osaka, the talented tennis sensation from Japan.

Osaka emerges as the number one highest-earning athlete in Asia, having amassed an incredible 53.2 million dollars in 2022. The majority of her earnings, a remarkable 52 million dollars, come from her lucrative endorsement deals, with an additional 1.2 million dollars earned from prize money.

As Virat Kohli continues to dominate the cricketing world with his extraordinary skills, he is gearing up to represent India in the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies, commencing on July 27. Regarded as one of the finest batters in the history of 50-over cricket, his role in the series will be pivotal as India takes on the host team in what promises to be an exciting contest.
