Virat Kohli hit his 10th ODI century against Sri Lanka, becoming the first player to score 10 hundreds against a single opponent.
This was also his 46th ODI century overall, and the third in his last four matches. Earlier, Kohli smashed a century in the first match against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series and also scored a ton in the third match against Bangladesh in 2022.
Kohli also surpassed Mahela Jayawardene to become the fifth highest run-scorer in ODI history and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI centuries at home with 21. Virat Kohli broke another record of Sachin Tendulkar by surpassing him in most ODI centuries at home. Kohli currently has 21 ODI centuries at home, while Tendulkar has 20.
Kohli still needs four more centuries to break Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries and 27 more to become the player with most centuries in international cricket.
In his today’s unbeaten innings of 166 runs from 110 balls, Virat hit thirteen 4s and eight 6s with a strike rate of 150.91.
