Kaur's brilliant throw turns the game as Mumbai Indians restrict Delhi Capitals to 131-9 in the summit clash of Women's Premier League 2023.

DC vs MI

In the 12th over, Lanning mistimed a punch to the right of cover, and the two batters hesitated before going for a single. Sensing an opportunity, Amanjot swooped in and picked up the ball, firing a flat throw to wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia, who quickly collected the ball and got rid of the DC captain. Lanning’s dismissal was the turning point of the first innings, leaving DC struggling at 74-5 in 11.4 overs.

Here’s the video of Delhi Capitals Skipper’s Dismissal:

Despite winning the toss, DC’s Meg Lanning lost the plot as wickets tumbled from the second over. MI’s Issy Wong destroyed the top-order with bouncers as Shafali Verma, Alice Capsey, and Jemimah Rodrigues played it straight into the hands of MI fielders. Amelia Kerr then scalped a couple of wickets, including Marizanne Kapp, who had built a short partnership with Lanning. After Lanning’s dismissal, DC’s hopes of putting up a fighting score were dashed, with the team eventually tottering at 79-9 in 16 overs.

However, a 52-run partnership for the tenth wicket between Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav helped DC post 131-9 in their allotted 20 overs. It was a challenging target for MI, but they managed to chase it down, thanks to the solid performances of Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur, and others. With Amanjot Kaur’s heroics on the field, MI’s victory was even more impressive. Relive the excitement of the WPL 2023 final and marvel at the brilliance of Amanjot Kaur and the entire MI team.
