R Ashwin came to the party quite late in the 1st Test against Australia. He is India’s ace spinner but failed to register any wickets in the 1st session. However, when in the second session, the partnership between Alex Carey and Peter Handscomb was looking dangerous; R Ashwin produced a stunner to shatter the wickets of Alex Carey.
With Carey’s wicket, Ashwin has completed 450 Test wickets. He is one of the very spinners in the world to achieve that milestone. Ashwin is already a legend in the longest format of the game, and he continues to improve his own legacy.

Australia is currently at 168-6 in the 1st Test. Alex Carey was dismissed on 36 runs. Ashwin has completed 450 wickets in the Test as the second-fastest player to do so. He is only behind the legendary Muralidharan.
