Kolkata Knight Riders have announced that they have signed the West Indian batter Johnson Charles as the replacement for Bangladeshi batter Litton Das who is going to miss the remainder of IPL 2023.
Johnson Charles has agreed to join Kolkata Knight Riders for a sum of Rs 50 Lakhs. He is an opening batter who has played a lot of T20 cricket in different leagues all around the world. Charles has also represented West Indies in T20 internationals as well.
Charles was a member of the teams that won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016. He has played 41 T20Is for West Indies in which he has amassed 971 runs. Overall Charles has scored 5600 runs in 224 T20 matches.

“Litton Das has had to return to Bangladesh earlier today (Friday 28 April) due to an urgent family medical emergency. Our wishes go out to him and his family to make it through this difficult time,” KKR has officially stated.
Johnson Charles won’t be available for tonight’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he is yet to arrive in India.
