West Indies Creates History, Defeats Pakistan at Their Home in 2nd Test

Pakistan had won their last three Test matches at home by preparing spin-friendly wickets, but their strategy backfired in the fourth consecutive Test. This time, Pakistan fell into their own trap as West Indies defeated them using the same spin tactics. In the Multan Test, West Indies secured a 120-run victory, marking their first Test win in Pakistan in 34 years. As a result, the two-match Test series ended in a 1-1 draw, as Pakistan had convincingly won the first Test.

Talking about the match, West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the team was bowled out for just 163 runs. Gudakesh Motie scored 55 runs, while Jomel Warrican contributed 36, helping the team reach a respectable total on a spin-friendly wicket. At this point, it was expected that Pakistan would post a total of around 250 to put West Indies under pressure.

However, Pakistan struggled in their first innings and were bowled out for 154 runs. Several batsmen got starts but failed to convert them into big scores. Mohammad Rizwan top-scored with 49 runs, while Saud Shakeel added 32. As a result, Pakistan fell behind by 9 runs in the first innings. Nauman Ali picked up 6 wickets for Pakistan, whereas Jomel Warrican took 4 wickets and Gudakesh Motie claimed 3 for West Indies.

In the second innings, West Indies put up a total of 244 runs, setting Pakistan a challenging target of 254. On this turning track, this target seemed big, and it proved to be the case. In the second innings, Kraigg Brathwaite scored 52 runs, Tevin Imlach made 35, and Aamir Jangoo contributed 30. For Pakistan, Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali both took 4 wickets each.

Chasing 254, Pakistan collapsed for just 133 runs on the spin-friendly wicket, suffering a heavy 120-run defeat. Jomel Warrican was the star with the ball, taking 5 wickets, while Kevin Sinclair picked up 3, and Gudakesh Motie claimed 2.
