In the realm of cricket, Virat Kohli’s popularity stands unmatched. His exceptional batting prowess, magnetic persona, and on-field leadership have garnered him an enormous global fan base.
Before any India match, the television discussions among broadcasters and commentators invariably revolve around Kohli, underscoring his remarkable achievements in the world of cricket.
Former iconic Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, humorously remarked about Kohli’s prominence on television screens, jesting that the star Indian batsman even appears in his dreams.
“Today I walked past him and told Virat Kohli that you come in my dreams now. He replied saying ‘what do you mean Wasim bhai? I told him because I see so much of you all on the television screen. I just can’t get him out of my mind,” Wasim Akram said.
Akram continued to emphasize that players of the caliber of Kohli, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are the ones who can single-handedly turn matches in their favor. He also noted that young talents aspire to leave their mark in high-stakes India vs. Pakistan encounters.

“Virat, Babar, Shaheen and all these match winners, they play this game for these moments – India vs Pakistan. I mean, for Pakistan everybody wants to perform and vice-versa. This is just made or break. Not for guys like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam but for young guys. These games are fun. Yesterday, the whole Colombo was buzzing,” added Wasim Akram.
