Jasprit Bumrah has rejoined the Indian squad, returning from his brief absence due to the birth of his first child. This move comes just ahead of India’s Asia Cup Super Four clash against Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.
Bumrah’s presence was notable during India’s initial outdoor practice session in Colombo, where he participated enthusiastically after his arrival earlier that morning.
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson, who had been brought in as a reserve wicketkeeper due to K.L. Rahul’s groin injury, has been released from the squad. Rahul has since recovered and joined the team on Tuesday.

On a sunny day that allowed the stadium to dry up, all 17 members of the Indian squad underwent a rigorous training session. The conditions were near perfect after Sri Lanka and Bangladesh had completed their pre-match training.
During the training session, Ravindra Jadeja was observed providing guidance to Tilak Varma on offspin bowling techniques. Head coach Rahul Dravid engaged in a lengthy discussion with Shubman Gill following the opener’s batting practice.
