Why Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Who Became a Crorepati in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, Won’t Receive the Full Amount? Know the Reason

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is an emerging star from India who gained attention after the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. He is also playing for India in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024, with the team’s first match being against Pakistan. However, Vaibhav didn’t have a standout performance in this match. Despite his age, Vaibhav has already achieved significant feats in his career. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. But did you know that he won’t receive the full amount?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the youngest cricketer to become a crorepati in the IPL. He was bought for many times his base price. Rajasthan Royals took the risk and acquired him for ₹1.10 crore. However, Vaibhav won’t receive the entire amount. He will also have to pay income tax, although the exact amount remains unclear. There have been various reports about this.

How much tax will Vaibhav have to pay?

According to a report from TV9, Vaibhav may have to pay a 30% tax, which would amount to around ₹33 lakh. As a result, he will receive about ₹77 lakh out of the ₹1.10 crore. Since Vaibhav’s income falls under the earned income category, which is based on skills or talent, including fields like sports and acting, there will be no exemptions, and his earnings will be taxed accordingly.
