ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up matches schedule announced by International Cricket Council i.e. ICC. The practice matches of the Women’s World Cup will start from September 28 and all the matches will be over by October 1, as the tournament is to start from October 3. Team India is also going to play two practice matches. The Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur will play warm-up matches against West Indies and South Africa.
Before this 10-team tournament, all the teams will play 2-2 practice matches and then directly enter the tournament. As usual, these practice matches will also not get the status of T20 International cricket. Teams will be able to field all the members of their 15-player squad. No two teams from the same group will face each other in the practice round. This is the reason why India has to face West Indies on 29 September and South Africa on 1 October.
In the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, Group A includes defending champions Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Group B includes England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland and Bangladesh. For this reason, India has to face the teams of other groups in practice matches. Practice matches will start with Pakistan vs Scotland match. The match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will also be played on the very first day.
In the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, all the teams have to play 4-4 matches in the group phase. After this, the top two teams of the group will qualify for the semi-finals. In this T20 World Cup starting from October 3, the semi-finals will be held on October 17 and October 18 and the final match is to be held in Dubai on October 20.
