Former Indian cricketer Reema Malhotra praises Capsey's destructive knock and Jess Jonassen's impactful performance in the match.

Delhi Capitals’ Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was a nail-biting affair that showcased some brilliant batting performances. Reema Malhotra, a former Indian all-rounder, was all praise for the young Alice Capsey, who stepped up after the early dismissal of the dangerous Shafali Verma. Malhotra highlighted the importance of having match-winners like Capsey in the team who can turn the game on its head at any moment.

Delhi Capitals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore

Capsey’s knock of 38 runs off just 24 balls was filled with destructive batting and innovation. She smashed eight fours during her innings, and her partnership of 44 runs with Meg Lanning gave the required momentum to the Capitals’ chase. Malhotra observed that Capsey’s promotion to No. 3 in the T20 World Cup for England was due to her ability to play the brand of cricket that she displayed during the match.
