WPL Auction 2023
On Monday, February 13, in Mumbai, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 Auction, involving 409 players, will take place. The BCCI previously said that it had received 1525 registrations, of which 246 Indians and 163 foreign players had been selected. Among the 24 players who have listed themselves at the highest base price of 50 lakh, there are 14 cricketers from abroad and 10 from India. Among those with the highest starting salaries are Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, and Deandra Dottin. The victorious Indian U-19 T20 World Cup team has participants in the auction as well. The five franchises would also split a 12 crore budget.
