Australia defeated Team India on day 5 of the World Test Championship Final 2023 to become the Champions. Travis Head was named player of the match for his sensational counter-attacking century in the first innings of the Test match.

Australia has become the second team after New Zealand to win the World Test Championship. Unfortunately, India is the only team to lose World Test Championship Final twice. Rohit and Co. would surely be disappointed with their performances.

According to a few reports, Rohit Sharma can be replaced soon as the Indian captain by Ajinkya Rahane in the longest format of the game. In T20s he is already being slowly replaced by Hardik Pandya as captain.

Coming back to the WTC Final, Australia posted a huge target of 444 runs for India to win the Test match in the fourth innings. However, the Indian batters could not fathom the pressure and faltered against the Australian attack.
