Justin Langer, the former coach of the Australian cricket team, has lauded Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer, for his aggressive style of play and criticized the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their decision to remove Kohli as captain in the One Day International (ODI) format.

Langer, who is currently part of the commentary panel for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 Final between India and Australia, praised Kohli’s passion for the sport while expressing his disagreement with the BCCI’s handling of the situation.

Langer admired Kohli’s aggression and believed that the BCCI treated him unfairly. He made it clear that he didn’t want to entertain any opposing viewpoints and firmly believed that Kohli should have been allowed to continue as the ODI captain as a sign of respect.

Furthermore, Langer had nothing but positive remarks about Kohli, praising his aggressive playing style, his passion for the game, and his batting prowess. Langer described Kohli as an exceptional captain, leaving no doubt about his high regard for him.

In December 2021, Kohli was abruptly relieved of his ODI captaincy, with Rohit Sharma taking over the role. Kohli had an impressive win percentage of 70.43 as a captain in the 50-over format, having won 65 out of 95 matches.
